Blade is a rather stunning American Bulldog. He is about 5 years old. Blade can be a little wary of strangers when he first meets them but with a little time and patience that can be overcome. We are looking for a home for Blade that ideally has experience of the breed but at least bull breed experience. Blade is so well house-trained that he will not go to the toilet in his kennel even if it means holding it from 4pm til 9am the next day. He is excellent to walk and is OK off lead when he knows you as long as there are no other distractions (he took off across the field chasing crows today) and sometimes he sees the lead as a toy to be played tug with!

Blade is so handsome and so scared being in the kennels. Just as Mark says he just needs someone to spend a little time with him and he is a big softie!

Unfortunately we have discovered that the big soft lad kennel guards - not an ideal thing when someone is interested in him and all he is doing is growling at them - he IS alot better when he is out though, just hope it doesn't put people off...

Probably because he is so pleased to have a space of his own and doesn't want anyone intruding on it!

He doesn't get a choice with me or Annalise, he has to endure us invading his space and kissing his big soft face - the kisses we get back are a big slobbery kind though..........

Blade is a lovely chap, very easy to walk with and suprisingly quiet. Walks to heel and obeys correction without protest. Didn't bat an eyelid when I went in for him. Accepted the lead - bit of grabbing at it but soon fixed. Once out he is completely different; very calm. As suggested above you must be able to control him psycologically, as physically he's a big lad and without proper leadership he can be intimidating. I like big dogs and no reason to think he wouldn't make a loyal and loving companion.

He is definitely one of my favorites right now, think its the way that he gets my throat in his mouth to lick my neck. He is really funny and very playful now he knows us

Blade is a dopey great lump. He's so easy to control and a joy to walk with. He is a natural follower. Somebody MUST want to nuzzle up to those cute chops on cold winter nights?

Blade was moved to a different kennel today, and did'nt know what to make of it all, he was really bemused. lol. The funny thing is, he has been really quiet all day, i think it's because he has something different to look at, and gave us some peace. Seriously though, he is a stunning big boy, and really needs to be in a home. He is anothe favorite here at the rescue. If you have the experience for this boy, please give him a chance.

Hi, how is Blade with other dogs? We rescued Boo (Rottie , formerly Sasha) from yourselves and also have a 3 yr old SBT called Ruby. Our old bull mastiff x sadly died 3 weeks ago and we are looking for a boy to rescue

Believe it or not, Blade use to live with a male Staffy, before coming to us, so he may well get on with a female.

Blade is a big, quiet softy. You never get a cross word from him. Doesn't understand 'sit' from me, but that makes me a poor teacher, not Blade a bad dog. A few simple instructions and repetitions required. He is low energy and walks to heel with no pulling or protest. Don't expect him to climb Scarfell or win flyball, but once you've bonded you wouldn't want a more faithful companion.

I can't believe he's still with you. Trying to convince OH to come up and visit as we've finally decided that it's ok to get dog number 3 after losing Dill in May
