We recently got sent a "fine" of £40 (going to £70 in 14 days) from Parking Eye operating a charging system at ALDI in Retford, having researched them they are all over the country operating the same scam. The letter is an invoice, not a fine, it is not legally enforceable as no contract was entered into. 1/ if you park at ALDI be aware you should buy a ticket 24hrs a day, whether or not you shop there and whether or not the store is open. 2/ if you get invoiced, by all means write to them saying that you do not accept the charge, but as far as I can find out, they have never prosecuted anybody who has refused to pay or disputed the charge. Only my opinion- do as you think best, but if money is burning a hole in your pocket give it to the kennels instead!
