I'd shove a banger up his arse if he were alive today!! Thanks To him and his stupid plot my animals are stressed and all 12 of them having to be kept in since it got dark due to all the prats doing a world war 2 re enactment out there. I think it should be organised events only and away from built up residential areas. Not a party popper but keep thinking of all that money going up in smoke when animals are in need! My money won't be going on fireworks that's for sure. And bet the numptys are at it all weekend too!

LOL
We are currently 'dog sitting' and have a total of 5 in the house. Amazingly last night was incident free...our Bear and my sisters Lab Lotti are the excitable kinda dogs towards fireworks and we only had two small barking sessions! (Phewy!)
Its nuts because the 5th has fallen on a friday - which means firework parties all weekend!
Hope your little ones keep safe dodledeedle and you dont have any rushing past your ankles at the door to get back out today - its just the worry if their not back at night fall.

After just sitting through an hour of WWIII the only one of mine that has been worried by it all was one of the parrots, he was nearly as loud as the fireworks were. Screaming his fool head off! Thank goodness we live fairly well out and only tend to have 1 neighbour who lets them off.

My friends dog-Red, got spooked by the early onset of the fireworks and escaped from the garden where upon she was hit by a car. The driver drove off! The dog was found by another person who took her to the vets. Unfortunatley Red had to be put to sleep as that was the kindest thing to do. Many Thanks to the person(s) who took Red to the vets. X

That is so sad Annalise. Run free Red. This sort of thing happens every year and it's getting worse with bigger and louder fireworks. Shame it's not like Australia, you cannot even buy a sparkler there over the counter. There are public displays only with rules and regulations for safety. Poor Tommy is terrified, nothing we do helps him at all. My new little Grandog Heidi was ok until a bloody neighbour set off a stupid great banging rocket just when she had nipped out for a wee. Poor little baby ran screaming into the house and now she is scared every time she goes into the garden.

Poor Red, thats so sad, RIP bless him.
So many fireworks now are just plain noise, aren't they? Wouldn't mind so much if it was just pretty, quiet ones. Marley doesn't like them but all he did was snuggle onto my lap, and he didn't want to go outside at all.

It should be made law that they can only be sold on the 5th and lit on the same day. Some of the air bomb noises are horrendous and even the television cannot drown out the sound. One of our cats sat under my car all night scared absolutely witless and he wouldnt move, let me get hold of him or anything. I agree with Sharon all that money burning when so many animals are in need.
