Hello, I apologise if this is the wrong place to post this but I was hoping people on here could give me some helpful advice and information. I have been a volunteer dog walker for some time whilst I have been recovering from a bad illness, however, I would like to start my own business now I am feeling better and have always wanted to have a job that means working with animals. I want to start up dog walking, dog sitting, pet sitting, pet taxi etc but was wondering if people on here could tell me what they think are the main services I could provide for pet owners. i am aware of all the insurances required and I will be advertising soon via fliers in my local area but don't really know where to start and what help is required most for pets. I would love and info good or bad, thanks very much.

Hi Peroxideblader, As dog walking mostly involves you to enter an empty property to collect the dog(s) the best advice I can give is get CRB checked. Find a guarantor who will help and mediate your application. www.crb.homeoffice.gov.uk/

Good luck!! I think you are very brave! My dogs are soft as grease but won't let strangers through the door, took 5 attempts before they let Bob my neighbour in to let them out for wee whilst we are at work!! I expect you will have had dog handling course though so will be safe? Hope it all works out for you!

Sounds good. I read about various dog services in larger places, but haven't seen any round here. Good luck.
