you need to be registered to see it..... eta have registered. Here is the post for people who dont want to register, warning, its really not nice at all. im lost for words I was going to hold this back until dogs are out ( but they should be gone by the weekend ) but todayafter what ive heard i cant bite mytounge no longer and im waiting for reporters to call me back to re do the article that was in Wakefield Express last week, which i posted on here. Although i have managed to get photos i feel saddened by the fact tha i never managed to record people openly admitting to abusing dogs this incuded the managers son and other members of staff past and present, Heck the the manager has killed some dogs in his time ( an i dont mean taking them to vets to be PTS ). So here are some pictures. Dogs bed that hasnt been check and cleaned properly. Will have been left like this for a couple of days. Bedding that hasnt been changed left wet and soaked in urine. Bedding is also taken from kennels where dogs have been and either folded back up or given to other dogs without putting them int he washer to clean them first, certain members of staff do this often. Kennels that hadnt been cleaned proper and used again. This is an on going thing espically with certain members of staff which manager knows about but never says anything. Dog left slowly dying for over 4 hours after manager was told it wasnt well for past couple of days. ( Happened 7th January 2010 picture was taken at 11:30am ) Dog left in flithy conditions by staff members who werent confident enough or trained properly on how to deal with nervous, argressive or "dangerous" dogs. Manager just says " Give it some food and we''ll sort it tomorrow, but as the old saying goes tomorrow never comes. [imghttp://i411.photobucket.com/albums/pp197/likewise44/388.jpg[/img] A roof in maternity which collaspsed in due to water collecting between the roof, insulation and plastic. Although this has now been patched up other kennels are also at the same risk of this happening. and the last picture i have which was the most upsetting. O12 - Still Alive and This dog was beaten to death by young lads who broke into the kennels on the night of the 1st December 2010. The managers son noticed 3 men on the roof of the kennels and phoned his dad and this was his reply " I wont risk it in the snow and well sort it tomorrow" So nothing was done. If you had a brain cell yu would have phoned the police. We were only told the do had the dog had been beaten by the manager but if is still possible that the people who broke in had been fighting the dogs because some of the other dogs had puncture wounds. It was actually me who found this poor boy dead along with another member of staff. This dog was beaten to death and other dogs were let out, the story they told the police was completely different. I was going to wait until the remaining dogs are out but now they has been sorted and due to recently findings out about who is stll working at the kennels i can no longer bite my tounge and keep quiet. Feel free to cross post if you want these people need to be named and shamed for what they have done and never be allowed to work with animals again.

We have taken many dog's from this pound, and to say i have cried when i read this is an understatement. It has made me feel sick, to think that dog's are subjected to this, is to unbearable to think about. It is places such as this pound, that cost rescue's like our's money in vet's bill's, when they arrive to us, with all kind's of health problems, due to lack of care and hygiene. I just hope that the people responsible for the suffering of these poor dog's get what is coming to them. R.I.P to the poor souls that have sufferd and did not make it out.

I'm sorry I can not bring myself to comment on this fully because I really would not be very nice and certainly not conservative in my post. R.I.P babies. I'm so sorry you were treated this way

This is obscene and horrific,it cannot be allowed to continue. These are supposed to be places where animals are looked after not abused and ill treated.

Just need to add, this pound is now closed, and will not be taking in anymore dog's. THANK GOD FOR THAT. The last few dog's were taken out by a rescue today.

These pounds around the country need to be monitored by on the spec visits by people, how many more is this going on at, and how come the RSPCA dont close the right ones down. I hope the owner is prosecuted and his scum bag staff, but even then the punishment will not fit the crime. What have these poor dogs done to deserve this, our society is disgusting towards animals that dont have a voice.

AND THAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RESCUE AND POUND The people in rescue do it with a genuine love and respect for animals and a wish to see all animals treated with the humility they deserve, I have been to some good(ish) pounds but have also seen people who run pounds who are in it for the money they make make from the council.......... ..........for those who dont know - this is anywhere between 7 and 10 pounds a day for the requisite 7 day period from the day the dog is taken to the pound by the dog warden. On day 8 the dog legally becomes the pound's property to do with as they wish (supposedly within the law - either euthenasia or rehoming, but as we see not everyone is law abiding) Every rescue will try to help as many pounds as possible to save dogs being PTS but we all live in constant fear of being infected with Parvo, Gastro or kennel cough . The first two are obvious killers but kennel cough is equally as lethal to very young or older dogs tha is something we fear as much as the first two as we have people begging us weekly to take pregnant or nursing bitches as we are known and have a good rep. for rearing pups and then you see DIRTY BASTARDS like that pound sending dogs out to us endangering EVERY DOG in our kennels - dogs that we have loved and nurtured from the minute they come to us 'til the minute they leave us (tears from Elaine and Annalise)((O.K. me too sometimes)) - how many times has Elaine rung me to ask me to go in and help to full scrub ALL of the kennels with bleach as we have had a dog come in suspected of having 1 of the dreaded 3 - I CAN'T REMEMBER - its been lots. Bloody pouinds need to clean up their act!!! Perhaps we need to start lobbying our M.P.'s for spot checks to be carried out on council funded dog pounds? ?

AND looking back on the pics which the staff all looked at at tea time in tears - I have yelled at volunteers for not leaving kennels as clean as I expected them to be - I'd have FKN murdered the staff that left the kennels in that disgusting mess in the pics. As for throwing food into an aggressive dogs kennel and leaving it to fester - that just makes my blood boil, we do get idiot dogs in like that but make a special effort with them to make them see all humans are not bastards out to hurt them - think Gemini who nearly ripped Annalise's face off on the first day but now is one of the dogs who we give to first time dog walkers, Lovely Amber Bamer (Bam Bam) who was a nervous wreck but within a week was all over the staff like a rash AND gave birth but trusted us to be with her and the pups from the first moment and big gormless Taz(manian devil) who is scared of his own shadow but will now let us do most things with him - still working on the general public thing with him. Its not special training with the staff its either years of working with dogs (Elaine, Annalise or Me) or idiocy (Emma) and a confidence (hope ,and shitting your pants) that get you to that place in the dogs head that realises that you are not a threat and could be a good thing. Can't explain it properly but we do it and can't understand why staff in pounds can be that different (except none of us could work in one due to the destruction policy) but we are rarely bitten - it happens but we usually manage to find blame in something we did - NOT THE DOG.
blah ........im drunk now and ANGRY

The pound manager, his son and the staff just didn't care enough...
I hope the council of Wakefield hang their heads in shame for not checking and monitoring this shamfull family and the habitual suffering they caused to these dogs!
RIP little ones that didn't make it and good luck to the rescued one in finding forever homes!

This has had me in tears too, unbelievable (or should be) that anyone could treat dogs like that, espcially in a place they're meant to be cared for in. I agree with above too it's not only the immediate people who did it that should be ashamed and made to pay, but everyone who should have checked it and didn't, too.
