Well, where do i start with this one, we had a very unexpected delivery yesterday of 5 pups. One of our rescue dog's Lucy, who came to us several weeks ago gave birth, and we did not know she was expecting. When she first came to us, she was very skinny, and not in the best of conditions, so we have been giving her 3 meals a day to help her. I just assumed that she was putting on weight as she had been getting all this good food. To say we were shocked when i went in to clean her, to find she was already trying to deliver puppy number one, is an understatement. We very quickly prepared the welping room, but the pup was breeched, and so i had to help her with it. Puppy 2 arrived no problem, but pup no 3, was a big pup, and he was well and truely stuck, and after several calls to our vet, and him guiding me through trying to get this pup out, i had no choice but to take her to the vet, as by this time, she had been trying to born this pup for well over an hour. The vet nurse helped to get the pup out,and we did not think he was going to make, but she worked on him for over an hour, and am happy to say he is doing fine. After a quick injection, she then had 2 more pups, so 5 in total. ;D We have 3 girls and 2 boy's, and mom and pups are doing well. I will get pics posted as soon as i get a chance, or Mark will.
