As requested here is the new "WISH LIST" for the kennels.
im sure Elaine , Annalise & Mark will add any other day to day items that we need to help ease the pressure on the funds we have (or don't have).
Any help however small is greatly appreciated , some things may look silly but most is all used daily and has to be paid for somehow , other items are for general maintainence.
Perhaps a few people could contact manufacturers direct for us to see if they would donate anything.
Mops Buckets Sweeping Brushes Towels Bedding Lawnmower Strimmer Oil Drums (we need them to burn old bedding) Washpowder (we now have a washer for re-usable bedding) Disinfectant (pet safe) Washing up liquid Perfume/Aftershave (we use this to clean the adoption sheets) Coffee & Tea Gift Bags (used for teddy tombolla) Ribbon (used for teddy tombola) Exterior Masonary Paint (low odour for the kennels) Paint Brushes Tin openers Unused pet medication , worming , etc Wall Mountable Telephone (the one at the kennels is playing up) CD's & DVD's (we can now recycle these online) Teddies & Soft Toys Floor mats Straw & Hay Tins of Sardines & Tuna (for one of the dogs special diet) Glucosemene Tablets (supermarkets own brand)
240v Fire Bell / Siren (for front gate bell) Cordless Phone Carrier Bags/Swing bin liners. Shelves & Racking for Shop & Store Cupboard. Carpet for Reception Floor. A4 Printer Paper

A New Animal Ambulance (transit size) ;D
A large Garden Shed / Garden House that can be converted into a Cattery.

The cable has already been installed for the extension bell to be fitted outside the kitchen together with a new illuminated bell push, there are several outside lights going to be fitted and the heaters serviced & checked. I am taking some days off work either this week, next week or part of both which will enable me to do the work. Also I have 2 x 8' tubular heaters for the new kennel block which I will install.

Here is a copy of a e mail I have sent to Wilkinsons lets see what happens....Dear Wilkinsons/Canute
My husband Mr Shawn Chillery has worked for you for several years now as a lorry driver, and as a result I understand you to be a caring company often helping charity - the question I have is would it be possible for you to help a LOCAL animal charity near to your head office - the are called Babworth animals rescue, at Retford -and you can see them at www. Bark on line to learn more - I have copy and pasted their WISH list and wondered if you could help in anyway - and they will then in return put you on their website as a thankyou like they do with others that help them. any help or donations would be MUCH appriciated as they try to re home many animals that would otherwise be put to sleep. LIST AS FOLLOWS-
Many thanks and Kind regards Mrs Sharon Chillery

Thank you for your recent email requesting support for your fundraising.
Over the past few months we have been engaged in a major review of the community investment strategy and begun to modify our programme of work to ensure that it aligns more closely to company and branch values and offer long-term sustainability for our partners, organisations and for the business.
As a result of this process we have identified an area of social need in which we wish to work and have chosen four charities with needy beneficiaries with which we wish to work over the next four years. This year Wilkinson's chosen charity is Children's Hospices UK.
We do have a Helping Hands fund for each store however the funds for 2009 are now exhausted. Should you wish to apply for community vouchers in the new financial year please contact your local Wilkinson store after April 2010.
We would like to take this opportunity to offer you our best wishes and success with your fundraising.
Regards Lesley Banks Sponsorships & Charities - Head Office Wilkinson Hardware Stores
MY REPLY -
Dear lesley, Many thanks for automated reply which I guess you send out to anyone requesting funds to help with their charity. However I think you mis- understood my request - I was hoping as a hardware store Wilkinson would have at least offered some items such as disinfectant and mops and buckets to Babworth animal rescue at Retford very near to your head office, I was not expecting them to donate a large amount of money - even these small every day items mean a lot to them. I appreciate you cannot help every charity that requests help but this small gesture would have meant so much. Thank you for taking the time to reply. Kind regards Mrs Sharon Chillery

MIGHT BE WORTH DOING THIS THOUGH IN 2010 - (We do have a Helping Hands fund for each store however the funds for 2009 are now exhausted. Should you wish to apply for community vouchers in the new financial year please contact your local Wilkinson store after April 2010) So put this on next years calender or to do list Elaine!!!

JUST had reply back as follows: Sharon, I did read your email carefully. We do consider all application and where applicable we do give out community vouchers when we have the budgets to do so. At the present time and until we begin our new financial year our budgets are exhausted. This includes any items in store as these would be paid for out of the same budget. I am sorry you are disappointed but it is the same answer to everyone who applies at the present time. Regards Lesley Banks
AND MY REPLY -
Dear Lesley Thank you for prompt reply- and thank you for reading my email carefully, I have advised Babworth accordingly and advised them to request local help after April 2010, hopefully they may be successful then. Regards Sharon Chillery - Show quoted text -

Just got the following e mail from Asda head office - but already on to it - have written a card witha cute animal pic on the front and posted it 2 days ago- to Ms Morall at local asda she is the events person ...lets wait and see...Thank you for your message. Also might be worth looking at the link they sent in their e mail elaine as might give us someother ideas to help Babworth? Dear Mrs Chillery Thanks for getting in touch. We always try to make sure we put something back into the communities we live and work in. In all our stores we have event coordinators who look after charity events and fund raising. If you go to your local store and speak to the events coordinator, where possible, they'll try to help you organise an event. For more information about the kind of events which take place in our stores, please visit www.asda-corporate.co.uk. If you need any extra help, please let us know. Kind Regards ASDA Service Team ASDA Stores Ltd, Registered in England No. 464777. Registered Office: ASDA House, Southbank, Great Wilson Street, Leeds LS11 5AD.
