The Bull Farm Area of Mansfield has recently had inspections by the Mansfield District Council, and i believe these inspections are also going on around the local area. There have been a number of horror stories circulating about the treatment some residents have had from the inspector, one of which included the inspector ...failing a householder because they had pots on their drainer, are these i...nspections not about the structure of the home and if they need repairs, not how tidy your home is. Yes I agree if it is really messy there is probably a problem which the householder may need help with not threats of eviction. My main concern is the absolute disregard the inspector has for people with pets, namely dogs. Yes i know the council enforced a 1 dog policy to council tenants, and a number of people including myself have more than one dog, but in the past they have not enforced this, if they had they would not be in the position they are in now. A number of people on the estate are in utter dismay, one resident has been given 24hrs to re-home one of her beloved pets, a dog that she originally took in from a rescue, a rescue that was more than happy with the home it was going to and the ability of the adopter to look after it properly. Do the council not realise that some of these people have had there animals for years and are beloved family pets and to make a decision to part with one can be heartbreaking for the owner, especially as some of the owners are elderly and the animals are all they have. Not only this but there are to many dogs in kennels and pounds now looking for homes and this is just going to add to the very many dogs in our local area already needing homes and put to sleep healthy as no homes can be found. Surely if your home is clean and your dog/dogs are well looked after then this should not be a major problem, why add to the very many unwanted dogs when obviously the majority of people care and take after there animals which are now being threatened with kennels of even worse being put to sleep for no reason or fault of there own. Surely if the council official can say the animals are looked after and the tenant/s are capable of looking after the animals they can be issued with a license to keep them, but must not add to the number they already have. I would very much like to hear your views on this topic as a very large number of people will be effected by this in just my own area.
